Alex's New Calling
Today Alex's new calling was announced at church ( we found out two weeks ago). We were asked not to tell anyone until it was officially announced. We were able to tell our children last night. I think most people in our ward had a pretty good idea though. F.Y.I. Don't buy a new suit and wear it the week before. Everyone in our family also had a good idea because we needed them to come to our ward so we just told them that Alex was being made a High Priest and they knew from there. Alex was already the Executive Secretary in the Bishopric and now is the Second Counselor. We have already had joking predictions from ward members he will be the next Bishop but when the Stake President mentioned maybe he will be Stake President that was not as funny. Our Stake President is young, probably late thirties, and was made Second counselor when he was very young like Alex. His Grandpa Reichert came an ordained him a High Priest, which was very special to Alex. My dad was made a High Priest a few years ago so he was also able to stand in the circle. After I was of coarse the first to get a hug and a kiss (no body else got a kiss though). Then he was set apart as the second counselor and I got another hug and kiss. That is when the stake president said that those were to make up for the times he will be away. I know I am not suppose to be proud but I can't think of another word for it.

So cool!!! We are way excited(and glad it's not Ryan) for you guys. It's going to be a great calling, and I'm sure that even though it may be stressful and hard, it will also come with many blessing for your family! We love you guys! And we're definitely very proud of you Alex..
Yay! Aren't you excited! You are a strong woman so you can handle all of this. Him being gone alot and all. LOL! I am happy for you all. I know I forgot to come over after church, but I have such a hard time durning sacrament meeting with the boys... I am exhausted by the end. LOL!
I have to giggle though. A few months ago when we sat in the foyer, you told me that you were glad that Alex would be home more often than my husband!! How was Bishopric last night...Shawn came home and told us we had to go shopping...I wonder if it just felt weird to be home on a Tuesday night!
Just so you know...Alex is the right person for the job, I've heard several people testify to that!
HA! HA!
That's all i can say. (c;
But then again, i am in the Primary, and don't have the chance to make friends with the Elders at church, so i envy you in a way.
Good luck bro.
In a few short years, Liz will be "The Bishop's Wife!"
Okay, i am going to run away from the lightning right now. See ya!

This is wonderful news! I'm not sure what "the other" word for proud is either, but I think it is fitting here. By the way, I know I am a horrible blogger. I finally caught up and I am glad to see that you did too!! Ha ha.
The new suit in Elder's Quorum was a dead giveaway. Now who is going to participate when i teach?
